Hosting youth orchestras from all over the world (never mind the ‘Euro’ in the name), Young Euro Classic, now in its 13th season, has fought off funding issues to become an institution on Berlin’s summer festival circuit.

This festival shows that classical music isn’t just for the 40+ crowd, not only by gathering together the best and most passionate young musical talent, but also by featuring contemporary and unconventional music alongside the eponymous classics.

This year’s highlights include the Kristjan Järvi-headed Baltic Youth Philharmonic (Aug 11, 20:00), Miagi Youth Orchestra from South Africa (Jul 27, 20:00), Spain’s Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (Jul 31, 20:00) and the Armenian-Turkish Youth Symphony Orchestra (Aug 3, 20:00).
