My German

isn't good enough (STILL ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH) for me to get sniffy about style. Not really. I just kind of decide whether I can understand what most of the words mean or not. Having said that, I think Schoßgebete is definitely slightly better - possibly a lot better - than Feuchtgebiete. I read it on a Saturday night, in on my own, sobbing

that book...

"Some of them meant it as a compliment, some of them didn't, and I always kind of despised them for it." Well, damn... yup, read the book, but back in the day, I thought the discussion of the book in media was more profound than the book itself - I mean, is it offensive to say, that I don't think Charlotte Roche has a very good writing-style (at least 'Feuchtgebiete' read a wee bit like a school essay/teenager diary, but hey, maybe it was supposed to be - is the Schoßgebete any better?)? Just saw a comment on the upcoming film, though, and thought it would be probably worth seeing. Check this - - there's a guy talking for the first 38 sec who looks a bit like Boris Karloff (ignore him).

have you read the book?

I haven't read it, I loved Schoßgebete though, even blogged about it:

is all the secretion somewhat harking back to the upcoming film-version of that book? Still not sure what to make of the ol' book... at any rate, I like it better, when they pronounce the author's name in fake-French. Reminds me of Ferrero rather than "roach" (i.e. what the Germans make of it), don't you think?

I always wonder.....

what people who think men have it SO BAD and women have it SO GOOD actually want. like, what would make them happy? I do wonder how bad things would have to be for women until they were satisfied. I think rape would have to be decriminalized, and women would have to not be allowed to earn money like in The Handmaid's Tale, and stuff like that. Oder?

a guy said to me: women these days can have everything. for men on the other hand it's much more difficult.
