The festival’s home in Charlottenburg, also known as the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, has exchanged drum rolls for the overpowering chatter of fake birdsong ringing out from the chestnut trees, but if you listen closely you can still make out an expectant hum. It’s emanating from the technicians, directors, actors, playwrights, organizers – and not least the official festival bloggers.
As I write we’re perched on the roof of the building preparing to bring you all the news, reviews, and insider info we can muster non-stop for the next three weeks.
For a start, one of the many little birds flying around here tells me there are still tickets to be had for English-surtitled performances of Sarah Kane this Saturday and for Ein Volksfeind on the May 16, so get in there while you can!
