Donkeys, Piglets, and bears (Oh my?)
Winnie the Pooh, a character beloved by children (and adults) all over the world, is back on the big screen after a 34-year break. Though it’s a new story, everything is as we know it. Winnie is a honey-addict, Piglet is chronically nervous, Eeyore is slightly suicidal and the dialogue is still complicated enough to offer something for all ages. It feels like you’re meeting up with really old friends and it’s a great encounter, although Disney could have tried out some new paths. Then again, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
WINNIE THE POOH | Directed by Stephen J. Anderson (USA 2011) with Craig Ferguson, John Cleese (voices). Opens April 14
