Two siblings – young Holocaust survivors – nearly meet on a train station in Poland. Two generations later, a young Israeli woman makes her home in Berlin, investigating this non-meeting and the subsequent lives of her grandmother Mischla, who left for Israel, and great-uncle Feiv'ke, who stayed in Europe, changed his name and raised a German family close to the site of his suffering. Granddaughter Reuveny’s prize-winning film delicately picks apart suppression, reconciliation and identity, threading private lives into the wider weave of history in a memorable cinematic journey.
