A pitch-black comedy about a bunch of clumsy suicide bombers in which everyone ends up dead that leaves you in a good mood – is that allowed? It’s a moral question that Four Lions never poses, as everything gets drowned in really funny gags. The titular Four Lions are a quartet of Islamist terrorists from Sheffield who aspire to be terrorists and do just about everything wrong. As in every other project in life - be it business or religion, or both - believing in something is not enough to make it real.
FOUR LIONS | Directed by Chris Morris (UK, 2010) with Will Adamsdale, Riz Ahmed, Adeel Akhtar. Opens April 21
