Shot in black-and-white over nearly 10 years, Still tells the story of the young Uschi, who leaves her parents’ farm to live a simple, free life in a cabin in the Bavarian Alps, bound only by the rhythm of the animals she tends. She soon finds herself trying to find her way in the world, as the responsibilities of motherhood and the uncertain future of the childhood farm become an increasingly heavy burden in an intimate portrait that gives a face to tradition’s struggle for survival in a modern world.
