The remake of the movie based on the book
Fincher’s version of Stieg Larsson’s novel bears all his customary trademarks – above all, the changes in pace and space that monitor the minutiae of plot and character. With a protagonist like Lisbeth Salander (Mara), ward of state turned grim reaper brandishing the victimization scythe, it’s worth paying attention to every facial twitch as she tears across Sweden helping disgraced journalist Blomkvist (a bemused Craig) solve a mystery of a girl who disappeared nearly four decades ago. Strong stuff.
