Preparing the children’s opera Brundibár, originally played in Theresienstadt, a multicultural cast of young Berliners confronts past atrocities. When they meet Greta, one of the few survivors of the original cast, they’re inspired by her beaming optimism and transform the play through their own reflections. This documentary is a serene revisit to the past without being paralysed by its weight, a story about the redeeming power of music, as well as an extraordinary encounter between different generations and cultural backgrounds.
