If you're planning on staying in Berlin for any length of time, perhaps because in some drugged-up frenzy you've mislaid your return ticket and fallen in love with a girl with pink hair, your guilt about not knowing anything about this beautiful country will hopefully drive you to this museum at some point. It's probably best to do it once the drugs have worn off. This museum is vast and detailed and tells over 2,000 years of German history in about one five hour's aimless wandering.

The German Historical Museum contains a myriad of permanent and temporary exhibitions. The permanent one has over 8,000 exhibition objects and offers insight on Germany’s place in Europe over time. The changing exhibitions investigate themes that have had an impact on German history through visual art as well as by more traditional means.
