The Desire For Form: Neoconcretismo & Contemporary Art From Brazil
The Neoconcretismo movement was born in Brazil in the late 1950s just as its new capital, Brasilia, was being layed out. The Akademie der Künste's exhibition (Sept 3-Nov 7) features work by the likes of Hélio Oiticica, Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape, Ivan Serpa, Aluísio Carvão, Amilcar de Castro and Franz Weissmann, as well as Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer, Brasilia's architectural masterminds.
