How often do you think about stairs? Or public housing? Or refurbishing old buildings? This film festival focuses on international architecture documentaries, drawing attention to how the man-made world reflects the cultures that construct it. Stephan Trüby turns stairs – the research passion and personal struggle of Friedrich Mielke – into an insightful full length documentary, Friedrich Mielke: Discipline and Passion, the Science of Stairs. There will be two showings of Oeke Hoogendijk's The New Rijksmuseum, which tracks the decade-long struggle to refurbish the iconic Amsterdam museum. Listening to different perspectives on building might even give you a new appreciation for the cold concrete of old Berlin.
