DESCRIPTION:Mexico's colonial history makes the question "What does it mea
n to be Mexican?" incredibly hard to answer. In Haus der Kulturen der Welt
's second "Labor Berlin" exhibition\, Mexico City-born artist Erick Meyenb
erg uses sound and light installations to criticize ethnological attempts
to neatly classify race. He uses the LED colors red\, green and blue as st
 and-ins for the country's three "races" (indigenous\, black and white)\; i
lluminated at the same time and with the same intensity\, they result in a
mixed color - white. Through October 24.
