Norwegian-born Rees is fascinated with garbage. In preparation for his first solo show at Duve, he took some time to get to know Berlin’s rubbish in order to create site-specific works based on what he calls “urban archaeology”. Highlights include a wall relief made from wood and 1950s floor laminate and a concrete sculpture made by using a fabric softener bottle as a mold. This show speaks volumes about the poetry of urban life and everyday.
