Giving the term ’nightmare’ a whole new dimension, legend has it that the Mare Rider comes to women after they’ve given birth and steals their newborn children away. In this 2012 work from Leyla Nazli, the mare rider is just one part of a surreal journey through the psychological landscape of a maternity ward in contemporary London. The original production from the Arcola Theatre comes to Berlin as part of the Europe Now! network for intercultural, post-migrant theatre. In English with German surtitles.
