DESCRIPTION:In honour of her 2010 Käthe-Kollwitz-Preis win\, Akademie der
  Künste is showing recent work by the installation artist Mona Hatoum. A 
 child of Palestinian refugees who fled to Lebanon after the 1948 war\, Hat
 oum made one of her most striking pieces - "Undercurrent" (2008) - about s
 cattered identity: rope is woven into a red square at the piece's center\;
  the red ropes meander out from the central square\, each rope ending with
  a candle. Through September 5.
