Tanz im August (Aug 19-Sep 3) kicks off with this extravaganza of live performances and film screenings at Sommer.Bar - aka "where to dance/ chill/ eat/ drink/ talk day and night" for the length of the festival. Highlights include AADK's five-hour audiovisual performance/installation (20:00); What They Are Instead Of, Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot's exploration of intimacy and a sort of contemporary pas-de-deux (21:00, 22:00, 23:00); and Stefan Demming's film The Edge Of The City, about life in the suburbs of Mexico City (20:30, 21:30, 22:30). If you need to process all this with the help of a drink or a dance, the after-party starts at 23:00.
