Pick from 565 African species (22,000 species in total!) – from the Coco de Mer (with its famous booty-shaped fruit) to the not-so-meaty appendages of the ‘Sausage Tree’ (Leberwurstbaum).
Exberliner chose the iconic Baobab tree, known for inspiring writers (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry used the tree as a muse for The Little Prince) and monkeys alike. The Baobab can live for up to one thousand years, giving you plenty of time to swing by the beautiful greenhouses, peruse the exotic flora and visit our baby.
We'd swing from trees if you'd join us for the adoption ceremony at the Großes Tropenhaus in Botanischer Garten this Friday, September 14. The family welcoming begins at 4pm and includes a picnic in the park with Ghanaian fruit Dju Dju beers and music – you may even hear the Baobab's theme. Come celebrate!
