Burger

I had a similar issue with the burger falling apart because it was so dry....like you say there are loads of good burger places in berlin. bugermeister is one of my favourites. so i'd stick with eating out in this case. Didn't rate the relish either......it just tastes like tomato puree

Burger

To be honest I did tweak the relish quite a bit. I always taste whilst I'm cooking to make sure things are going well. I ended up putting a squeeze of lemon in there, as well as some finely chopped raw red onion, and also a bit of chopped corriander. Unfortunately I didn't have any gherkins but I thought the capers and lemon would provide all the acidity I needed.

Dryer than an Arab's sandle

I'm normally a big fan of your food Rose but I have to say the burger was very dry on this one. Most good cooks use something to bind a homemade burger. I'd normally use egg white (or you can get a yolk involved - as long as you're not driving lol). Just a tip for anyone taking their first steps into cooking. There are a lot of great receipes about but you soon learn to take some advice with a pinch of salt (again another ingredient lacking in this receipe - a bit of salt in the patties goes a long way to bring out the flavour of the meat). Other than that a great reciepe as always. Loved the relish particularly.
