The ballot has been cast! Exberliner staff have chosen Berlin’s next tourism advertising slogan from those submitted by our keen-witted readership in response to my blog post on city tourism marketing agency Visit Berlin’s lacklustre new slogan “365/24” last week.

And yes, the winner is: “Shut up, it’s Berlin!”

Perfectly translating Berliner Schnauze into English, the slogan raises the bar and projects Berlin’s perceived edginess and defiance unlike any other. In clear terms, it demands of visitors, if you’re going to come here, leave your judgemental, in-the-box thinking at home.

Or as the bright light who conceived the slogan, Oliver M., eloquently puts it:

“This sounds weird and naughty and shows some subtle fun. It transports the heart and soul of native Berliners and their attitude towards Berlin’s permanently incomplete beauty.”

Oliver, it’s time to claim your prize! Write to [email protected] and we’ll set you up with a free one-year subscription to Exberliner Magazine.
