Fourteen 'best independent productions' from the USA to the Philippines are presented by German directors –
including Wim Wenders, Maria Schrader, Volker Schlöndorff, and Andreas Dresen - who introduce their favorite
and stick around afterward to discuss it with the audience. Goodbye Solo by Ramin Bahrani (winner of the Venice
Film Festival’s prestigious FIPRESCI International Critics Prize), Living in Emergency by Mark N. Hopkins,
Samson and Delilah by Warwick Thornton (2009 Cannes Film Festival, Caméra d’Or) and West of Pluto (photo) by
Myriam Verreault and Henry Bernadet are only a few of the festival's potentially controversial films.
