Charlottenburg Family
PensionPeters.jpg

The building was almost bombed to smithereens during the war, but the hotel's original owner, Frau Peters, helped re-build it into the attractive family pension it is today. It's easy to see why the guests keep coming back to this charming, cosy little pension: a beacon of eccentricity in Berlin's snootiest district, Charlottenburg. The rooms are spacious but not luxurious and filled with quaint furniture and decorated with colourful, bold pictures - including some originals.

This place has real character - but what else could you expect from a family-run business whose team includes a former art historian, a singer, a painter and a store detective? The best things about this hotel are undoubtedly the friendly service and the free breakfast - which, due to the cosy, ramshackle nature of the breakfast room, often enables you to get to know - and even make friends with - the other guests; this hotel is perfect for grannies, cousins, businessmen and school students. And you'll adore the totally gorgeous stairwell too.
