Balikci Ergün

Tucked away under a railway arch beneath the elevated Stadtbahn, Balikci Ergün is arguably Berlin’s best fish restaurant (Michelinstarred aside). Founded over 20 years ago by a Turkish football star, this Mediterranean oasis brims with flowers and plants along the veranda. Amongst its almost all-fish menu hide great starters (try the cacik!) and lush salads, as well as amazing plates of fried and grilled fish – sardines, mullets, dorade, calamari (€7-13) – as fresh and tasty as you’re ever going to get in Berlin.
