Wannsee is the epitome of beachiness in the AB zone, known far and wide as the premiere summer spot in Berlin. This small Sahara usually features an unbroken sea of humanity from the water to the boardwalk during the day, all the better for creating that slightly nauseating combo of shining water, hot sun, junk food, and the invasion of personal space that means a day at the beach. The annual pilgrimage to the Strandbad Wannsee has continued unabated for decades, because, well, there really is no substitute for Wannsee anywhere else in town.

Very much a family beach, kids love this place, and as long as you aren't put off by the unending cacophony of squeals and giggles, you will too. The sunshades are old-school comfort for self-basting, and with volleyball nets, bungee/trampoline device, giant chessboards, and whatever the hell you brought with you, there will always be something to do. It is a law that everyone in the city needs to visit at least once a summer, and breaking laws is wrong, so see you there!
