Characters are the heart and soul of much of advertising and animated films: just think of Ice Age - not much story to speak of, but unforgettable characters drive the plot forward. Peter de Sève, the man who invented Ice Age’s Scrat, is sure to provide some fascinating insight at this year’s Pictoplasma, where he’s on the list of high-powered international speakers.
Lectures and presentations alternate with the screenings - and the event’s sheer amount of creative (and sometimes endearingly nerdy) energy will set you reeling. There’s even a “character party” to cap the whole event on Saturday night.
