A Mitte oasis in Kreuzberg filled with shabby-chic industrialism, this roomy bar also, like Madame Claude, features a little dollhouse-style partition for your tea parties. It’s a fashionable spot, but its identity is a little shaky - a gay-freaky vibe mixes with the usual neighborhood-y newspapers on racks, and a lot of English is spoken: the feel is probably closer to 21st century Brooklyn. Sitting behind me were some Americans proclaiming that Oakland, California was a ghetto. Cute. A beer costs around €3.20 or €3.50; an espresso, €1.40. Drug of choice: whatever you can get the bartender to bother serving you. |
