After several rebirths, one of the granddaddies of the Berlin club scene has been resurrected in the sport of its last incarnation, though it appears none of the originals are involved. Big names from all over the map - from Diplo to Ivan Smagghe to Modeselektor - spin downstairs, while the upstairs often hosts live acts. It’s altogether unpretentious, and though the emphasis remains the dance, not the hook-up, it’s probably as close to the old clubhouse feel as anything Mitte has to offer at the moment. Drug of choice: Downstairs? E. Upstairs? The good ol’ pot coke/beer throwback, as befits a classic.
