Later this year, Fantasy Filmfest will last a whole week, drawing pale-faced and black-clad aficionados in droves to the Sony Centre in Potsdamer Platz. But if you can’t wait for August, you can always get a quick thrill at Fantasy Filmfest Nights – a real teaser if you’re addicted to thrillers, horror movies and science fiction. You’ll also find genre movies such as black comedy and animation, and even better... English subtitles! Check out Wake Wood, the story of a couple whose daughter was killed by a savage dog and are granted a last chance to spend three days with their deceased child.

Or I Spit on Your Grave (the remake) will give you enough gore and gloom to last well past its Sunday screening. The real gem though? The return of veteran John Landis with Burke & Hare, a wonderfully silly black comedy about two enterprising lads (played by Andy Serkis and Simon Pegg) who make their living by providing cadavers to the Edinburgh medical school in the 19th century.
