Too often blighted by a lack of funds and resources to enjoy success in their homeland, Latin American filmmakers now have a platform in Berlin to showcase their grassroots creations.

Produced in the last two years and limited to just 30 minutes in length, the films promise to be a fast-paced mix of contemporary animation, experimentation, and documentaries, including films originating elsewhere but dealing with Latin American issues.

The weeklong event concludes with a prize ceremony, the winning entries determined by a jury comprised of artists and the public. All films are shown in original language with English subtitles.
