Japanese cinema gets top billing this month at Kino Arsenal. Twelve classic films in 18 days offers everything from cult classics to puppet theatre. Karen Sofie Egebo

If you have a weak spot for Japanese films from the 1980s, this November will be your favourite month of the year. Over 18 days, Kino Arsenal displays 12 films from the era where Japan was mostly portrayed through Karate Kid. From Saraba Hakobune (1982/84), directed by Japanese master Shūji Terayama, telling the story of two cousins falling in forbidden love, to the poetic Sonezaki Shinjū from 1981 fusioning puppet-theater and modern filmmaking, this is your chance to see a different side of Japan.
