Do you like this?

A young woman (Solier) needs to buy a new fridge for her dodgy boyfriend’s dodgy flower biz, so she takes on work tending to an old, bedridden man (Bugallo). In terms of the social realism to which this movie aspires, the main problem is the lead actress. She’s passive and void of emotion. Nor is she cute. The best thing about the movie is its Instagram-esque retro-warm glow, which you’ll be taking in for almost two full hours. Snooze fest.

Amador (Amador und Marcelas Rosen) | Directed by Fernando León de Aranoa (Spain 2010) with Magaly Solier, Celso Bugallo. Starts June 7
