Do you like this?

Christina (Cornil) holds down a dead-end job until a cottage in Corsica left to her by her grandmother sends her and us plodding down the equally dead-end path of rustic whimsy-by-numbers, through the picturesque hills of self-discovery/family history, winding up stranded in the familiar landscape of just about every other tourism film ever made. It won Best Film and the Audience Award at the Amiens Festival, but only the location shots are spectacular.

Au cul du loup (Das Haus auf Korsika) | Directed by Pierre Duculot (Belgium 2011) with Christelle Cornil, François Vincentelli. Starts July 12
