John Cusack and his buddy Pink (High Fidelity) do this piss-taking 1980s flashback the only plausible way: by sending a cast of middle-agers back through time to have fun with the decade’s ludicrous fashions and idiosyncrasies, all admirably recreated. A foolproof premise – a story and style in the vein of The Hangover – and likeable enough to forgive a few missed gags and momentum issues along the way.
