Investigating the roles played by cell phones in bringing people together, Ruhm has a Babel-esque style and structure, looping and meandering across stories of people who are only distantly connected. Based on the book by Daniel Kehlmann, stories include those of a successful novelist abandoned in Russia and a cocky movie star displaced by an impostor, bringing on swirls of emotion and wonderment in the contemplation of fate, choice and serendipity.

Ruhm | Directed by Isabel Kleefeld (Germany 2012) with Senta Berger, Heino Ferch, Stefan Kurt. Starts Mar 22
