Do you like this?

In the late 1970s, adolescent Nikolaj (Høeg) starts to question his father’s (Nordin) hippie way of life, reacting to the loss of his mother by rebelling to the sounds of the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen”. Or trying to: his pipe-smoking dad is just way too understanding, defending his son and embracing his lifestyle. Oh, the horror. But in the end, the relationship, through love, darkness and hardship, prevails and strengthens. Impressive performances from both actors provide an underwhelming plot with credibility.

Sønner av Norge (Sons of Norway) | Directed by Jens Lien (Norway 2011) with Sven Nordin, Åsmund Høeg. Starts July 5
