Copenhagen based wine seller (Berthelsen) grabs his adolescent son and heads to Buenos Aires to try and stop his hightailing wife (Steen) from marrying a younger football star. Will sunshine, tango and situational comedy revitalise him? Madsen’s film was shortlisted for the foreign film Oscar not because it inverts stereotypes. It’s simply happy to ignore them, letting characters be as loosely (un)predictable as people are in life-changing situations that just need muddling through.
