Do you like this?

Surviving a plane crash, seven oil drillers find themselves in an Arctic wilderness populated by angry wolves. It’s obvious from the outset that the rest of the film will entail them dying one after the other until only their badass leader Ottway (Neeson) is left for a showdown with the lupine aggressors. The characters and dialogue are drenched in tiresome machismo, and the film doesn’t even deliver as an enjoyable popcorn flick, pretentiously attempting to transcend its clichés through meaningless, overly sentimental ‘spirituality’, wasting time that would have been better spent with more satisfying action scenes.

The Grey (Unter Wölfen) | Directed by Joe Carnahan (USA 2012) with Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo. Starts April 12
