A quirky little bohemian coffee shop in the sleepy borderlands between Prenzlauer Berg and Pankow? Flint & Watson opened its doors in an unlikely location on Berliner Straße in March.
Owners Kseniya Belinska and Scott Boylan, a Ukrainian-American couple, have got the goods though, starting with coffee from eco-conscious roasters Coffee Circle (from €1.80) alongside possibly the world’s gooiest chocolate brownies (€2.75) or a heavenly slice of New York cheesecake (€3.50) made by My Cheesecake in Wilmersdorf.
Also impeccably outsourced are the authentically chewy bagels from Shakespeare and Sons, six varieties starting at €2.50, kicked up a notch with homemade cream cheese blends. Try an onion bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese (€3) and top it with smoked salmon or Parma ham for an extra €1.50, or sate your sweet tooth with the raisin bagel with honey and creamed goat cheese (€3).
Furnished with retro flea market finds and an extraordinary counter built from old doors, this cosy little nook is already luring a friendly eclectic crowd. A welcome shot of caffeine to the area!
