Cocktail chemistry

Oranienburger Straße gets a bad rap, but if you ever end up on this sorry strip, there’s still one stop you should make – Bellini. It's actually staffed by trained mixologists and boasts a large fish tank, always a plus.

Oranienburger Straße gets a bad rap. Too many tacky Asian-themed eateries, souvenir shops and Touri-swarms. Even beacons Tacheles (the ancestral mother of the new Berlin) and C/O Berlin (Berlin’s temple of photographic art) are on the way out.

If you ever end up on this sorry strip, there’s one stop you should make though – Bellini. This is truly one of the better cocktail bars in town. It is actually staffed by trained professionals – a rarity in DIY-everything Berlin – and it boasts a large fish tank, always a plus.

Our favourite mixer: the “Granate-Honey”, brainchild of award-winning bar-boss Cordula Langer and made from fresh grapefruit juice, 5cl of Plymouth gin, honey and a dash of pomegranate liqueur: your summer drink of choice!
