Foreign Body: An experimental short film by Howool Baek

FOREIGN BODY! Everywhere in Berlin! Faceless bodies dancing through the metropolis, forming into groups. Individuals remain. You remain. How does it feel to be a stranger?

With her experimental short film, choreographer Howool Baek is once again on the move in the digital space. Using oddly familiar body forms, she visualises the social dynamics that we constantly face in our everyday lives. The cloned dancers Nicole Michalla, Lorenzo Savino and Shoko Seki, who bear Baek’s signature, open up a new dimension of contemporary performance art, through VFX by Marc Poritz.

The binaural soundscapes of composer and sound designer Matthias Erian underscore the abstract encounters in body-language. FOREIGN BODY, a short film in 10 episodes, tells in a familiarly whimsical way stories of exclusion, power and prejudice.

From August 3, 7 pm (CET) until August 31, 2022 you can watch FOREIGN BODY online and for free on  http://howoolbaek.com/. To fully immerse yourself in the binaural sound, wearing headphones is recommended.
