The Picasso of sushi in Berlin, Mr. Hai specializes in the whimsical. In the center of what looks like a very chic cocktail bar is a sizable sushi counter around which sushi-carrying boats float.
While there is “normal sushi” the best offerings here are the unusual ones. Try the blowtorched whole shrimp halves, eel-covered salmon sushi, and the cucumber-wrapped rice balls filled with red and green Tobiko (flying-fish roe) and a quail egg yolk. There are rolls named after members of his family- Nam Hai, The Huy, Vy Ha – all of which are tasty and unique to this restaurant!
