This month’s edition of the legendary EXBERLINER Wednesday at Kaffee Burger features a pair of acts that revel in spear-tipped words sure to kill the wails.
First! Former Space Cowboy, Ocean Clubber and Love Parade co-founder Danielle De Picciotto reads from her memoirs, The Beauty of Transgression, a deeply personal account of decadent 1980s and 1990s Berlin, with musical accompaniment from her husband, Einstürzende Neubauten bassist Alexander Hacke.
And then! From the Factory to the Garage: the crusty, hard-living smoke-blowers of The Methylated Spirits will take you back to the days when a punk was a snot-nosed kid who hung out in Midwestern parking lots, and a man’s hair could reach his shoulders but wander no further.
And afterward, as always, our very own DJ Shiner spins the indie until the night is beaten into gentle submission.
