Last generation activists attacked by angry drivers
For months now, protesters from the Last Generation activist group have been disrupting Berlin traffic in order to bring attention to the climate emergency. But things got a little ugly yesterday when some motorists took it upon themselves to assault the protesters, with one driver reportedly driving over an activist’s foot with his vehicle. rbb have published a video of the incident, which shows two people angrily attempting to drag climate activists off the road, before a white car pulls up and hits the protester’s foot. When he screams, the car reverses. The incident took place on Neue Kantstrasse, at the exits of the A100 and A115.
Emergency service personnel were not yet on the scene when the attack occurred, and the video is expected to be made available to the police today. Criminal proceedings on suspicion of simple bodily harm have already been initiated.
