On Thursday night, hundreds of police officers flooded Volkspark Friedrichshain to clamp down on teens and young people after continued noise complaints from local residents and reports of violent clashes between groups of partiers.
Before police forces arrived at the scene, a slew of emergency calls had been made to the park due to serious injuries and excessive drug and alcohol consumption.

The police clampdown did not go smoothly however. According to reports, some partiers resisted the police and retaliated by throwing glass bottles. Two members of the crowd, a man and a woman, were held in custody. They’re expected to face charges for assaulting an officer and damage to property respectively. The park was cleared by about 11:30pm.
