Canadian choreographer and dancer Shannon Conney is also a practitioner of craniosacral therapy, a type of alternative medicine similar to osteopathy. In her new piece, performers are given a “rock-sway” movement that’s synchronised to their cranial rhythm. “Via the pulsation of the cerebrospinal fluid and its empathetic rhythmic effect,” the audience is drawn into the performance in a less-than-traditional way.
