The names Johannes Itten and Paul Klee are synonymous with the birth and upbringing of both abstract and conceptual art. The museum environment justly glorifies these two gurus of colour theory, yet the chronological arrangement of the artworks reflects on a very personal relationship that the visitor can tune into and observe. Another very fascinating aspect is the retrospective of works shown, playing out a visual buildup, crescendo and falling action of artistic process, seen through a ‘cosmos’ of various styles of work.
