Chapman’s cement-grey relief paintings, infused with patterned colour from found fabric, burst into PSM’s spacey, all-white room like asteroids floating in the universe. At the centre of the exhibition is a stilted hut, resembling a sort of treehouse where the visitor can climb inside and sing into a microphone that projects music into the space. The various ways the pieces jut into the space or encourage participation from the viewer forge a personal connection to the heart of the artist.
