Jungle fruits and foreign foibles

OUT NOW! An Amazonian tangle of foreign intrusions and psychedelic adventures goes awry in A FLORESTA DE JONATHAS.

Jonathas’ harmonious life with his parents and brother Juliano as fruit farmer and vendor in a the remote Amazonas is disturbed when the two brothers go camping in the jungle with the beautiful tourist Milly. Instead of a love triangle, the film turns into a psychedelic experience of extreme conditions in the wild and merciless nature. Yet it is unclear how these carefully constructed pictures and sounds take us out from there.

A Floresta de Jonathas | Directed by Sérgio Andrade (Brazil, 2012) with Begê Muniz, Francisco Mendes, Viktoryia Vinyàrska. Starts March 6
