When Marley (Hudson) discovers she has inoperable colon cancer and only months to live, her social and professional life comes to a screeching halt, and she becomes wholly consumed by the disease, her treatment program and… Dr. Goldstein.
His introverted nature starkly contrasts with her flirtatious one, and the threat of falling in love begins to scare Marley more than the prospect of death. All in all, it’s a strong movie with one problem: Whoopi Goldberg. Her interjections of clichéd life advice are simply irritating and unnecessary. Kleenex recommended.
A litlle bit of Heaven | Directed by Nicole Kassell (USA 2011) with Kate Hudson, Gael García Bernal, Whoopi Goldberg, Lucy Punch. Starts October 6
