Almost in love

OUT NOW! An Iranian director takes his humanist cinematic visions to Tokyo in LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE.

A retired professor and a young female escort spend a Tokyo night and day together in this patient, observant film from celebrated director Abbas Kiarostami: his second since leaving his native Iran. The director seems obsessed with people talking in cars and that’s exactly where this film, for the most part, takes place, the high-rise Tokyo backdrop just a windshield reflection, as his characters skim the surface of everyday life in this crisp, humanist film of near-transcendental beauty.

Like Someone in Love | Directed by Abbas Kiarostami (France, Japan 2012) with Tadashi Okuno and Rin Takanashi. Starts February 27
